The American Empire?

After reading the article about America being compared to the Roman Empire was is different take. In a way I see how the author can say that because of America's "bossy" and somewhat "bully" tendencies that we portray toward other countries, but I think it goes deeper than that. I think that from the things I read about the Roman Empire was that there wasn't much good coming out of the empire. They were a overpowering and egotistical ruling. But, though many people think that America could be considered the same, I beleve that America also, makes a lot of good to their land/people as well as many other countries. They've changed many societies and nations for the better. I'm sure many people who don't live in America would disagree, but that's my take on the situation.
